And the World spins so much faster today than a century ago; and having coped with all that, you then have to give away to the politically-connected 30%.

I can hear the whimper of the rush to invest in South Africa as softer than the lightest zephyr breeze and as likely as snow in the Sahara .

Great piece of forgotten South African economic history made extremely relevant for today's economic circumstances. Well done, again, Johan. Personally I think the new strategy will be as useless as the National Dialogue or another Commission of Enquiry in our "current" circumstances of many, many post-apartheid South African years. I like your reference to IT, since I am convinced that unless we can use that also for (economic) policy development purposes, we will inevitably ALWAYS be too late or too irrelvant in terms of what traditional means of policy generation can produce. One of the greatest advantages of AI policy generation is that political influence can be minimised and bureacratic inertia and the snail's pace thereof can be averted.
